You'll Learn It
So many workshops, so little time! Youth will have five opportunities to learn, grow, experience, and serve God through innovative, high quality workshop options.
There will be something for everyone — introverts and extroverts, talkers and thinkers, both new and mature Christians, musicians and athletes. Nearly 500 workshop options fall into these categories:
- Getting Back to Basics
These are the building blocks of our faith and ministry. Whether you've never explored prayer, the Bible, or United Methodism — or you have grown up in the church and want to hear this information again in a new, dynamic way — these are the workshops for you! This is also a great chance to see creative and concise presentations to take back to your own programs.
- High Adventure
You didn't think we'd just sit around and talk all week, did you? No — this is about climbing, playing, running, and testing your limits. You won't want to miss these great workshops.
- Stories and How They Relate to Us Today
Have you ever read a book you couldn't put down? Can you make even a trip to the library sound exciting? Stories have always been a powerful way for people to share history, life lessons, and personal experiences of joy and challenge. Learn from these stories and develop your own gift for storytelling.
- Hot Topics
Some topics draw an immediate and strong response. These workshops will invite people to join in honest discussion without judgment. Whether you have a clear opinion or want to be more informed about an issue, this is a great opportunity to talk with your peers about important topics.
- The World of Media and Technology
Do you know people who can Instant Message, talk on the phone, write a paper, and listen to the radio all at the same time — and be productive? The question today is not "if" we will use technology, but "how" and "how effectively." Come explore these exciting and vital tools to enhance your ministry.
- Daily Christian Living
What does it mean to be a Christian? What does that mean within your family? at your school? How can you find support and continue to grow as a disciple of Christ? These workshops will provide concrete habits and activities to address your concerns.
- Performing and Creative Arts
Have you even been too shy to participate in worship or youth group because speaking is not your gift? Find your own gift and offer it with joy! These workshops in drama, singing, dance, music, puppets, and clowning invite each person to develop his or her own passions and gifts for ministry.
- Service and Mission
At Youth 2003 you will have the opportunity to imitate Jesus as a servant to the people. You will be in ministry with people from the surrounding community, putting hands and feet to the Word of God.
